It is that hard to believe that so much of what we are dealing with is because of food, lack of nutrition and lack of exercise? For a long time I really did struggle to wrap my head around this. I knew that a lack of exercise would cause issues. I knew that if all I did was eat out it would cause problems. I guess until a few years ago I really never understood how bad 90% of the food is you can buy from the store!
Then add to it that the things that typically go on sale for are all the processed and junk! I do my best when I grocery shop now to stick to the outside of the store and in the freezer and fresh food section. Although even in recent times I have learned some not so appealing things about our “fresh” foods.
I absolutely love this! If it came from a plant, eat it. If it was made in a plant, don’t! These are really wise words. You would think it would be common sense but it wasn’t for me.
I was oblivious to the dangerous things they use in foods. The biggest thing is I didn’t realize they were dangerous. Something as simple as “wheat” is abused and used far to often.
It isn’t even the wheat that causes the issues, it is what they do to process the wheat. For me personally it causes a lot of inflammation in my body. I never realized how bad it was hurting me. Then the fact it is in so many things! It is used as a filler so that they can charge you more because of the weight! Start looking at some of the things you eat. You might be really shocked to see what they put wheat in to!
How about Twizzlers – what is the second ingredient! How about Spices – most of your spices that you can get that are premixed have some kind of wheat in them. How about salad dressings – most of them have it in it as a thickener. How about condiments – most of them have it in it as well.
When you start to pay attention and read what you are eating, it is really scary!
Another thing that people used to say to me is, “Just Juice” and I looked into it. To purchase a juicer and all the fruits and veggies to put into each day. Then knowing that they really were not picked at the right time to get the nutrition you actually need. That means you need to use and drink even more fruits and veggies. Then looking at the cost of those fruits and veggies and how much they recommend each day. I was looking at a ton of time, a ton of cost and not getting optimal benefits from it anyway.
Here in this house we have found an easier way for our family to get our fruits, veggies and berries. We are getting optimal benefits from them because they are picked at just the right time. One of the best things for our family is all we do is take 6 capsules a day or chews each day. We are getting all we need and more and it is changing our lives!
There are a lot of ways to improve your health. Get your body moving. Be active and exercise. Dance while doing chores. Eat more fruits and veggies. Eliminate certain things from your diet (dairy, gluten, caffeine, alcohol, processed foods and refined sugars). I know it might seem overwhelming but go slow.
If you are serious about changing your life, these are big life changes and they do take time! Think One Change at a time! I will also say there are times when I slip back into old habits and have to readjust my thinking and habits! You can do it though, just like I can do it.
You have to decide if your life is worth it. You have to decide if you want to feeling better. You have to decide what it is you want. Just remember just because you decide today you want to be better, it doesn’t mean you wake up able to do it all tomorrow. It does take time and we are here for you!
