Library Day

We live really close to one of our local libraries. If we walk there it typically takes us less than 5 minutes to get there. Which is fabulous. So we do our best to walk there when the weather allows for us to do that.

Today happened to be library day and I carry a bag with our books to the library to return and then bring back our newly checked out books.

On the way home today I probably got about halfway and decided I needed to weight the bag when we got home. Before we even left the library I was commenting on how heavy the bag was. By the time we got out of the library I was thinking about calling Jack to come and pick us up because it wasn’t the best bag and the strap was very uncomfortable. But being I am a big girl and wanted to get some steps in I decided to suck it up and just walk home.

Get home and I was definitely feeling it. Probably because the children were not walking very fast and I didn’t want to just leave them behind, although the thought crossed my mind a few times. So I pulled out the scale and found it was 18.6 pounds!

It hit me fast that the bag was just about as heavy as the weight I have recently shed. As of Monday I was down 19.4 pounds! No wonder it was miserable carrying the bag back home. No wonder I hated walking to the library before. The walk there today was a piece of cake and I was really thinking wow when did this start to get so easy.

I guess I have my answer – when I started to drop the weight. It is amazing how much easier it was today.

I still have a really long way to go for my weight and I am not certain I really see much change from one photo to the other (there is only about 10 pounds difference from the blue shirt to the orange shirt because I have zero photos of me at my heaviest). At the same time – I have lost almost 20 pounds and I am really proud of myself for that. It has not been easy but I do have things in my life that are helping me.
